Cabe recordar que durante el año fiscal 2007, la ACP empezó a cobrar los peajes sobre la base de la capacidad máxima de pasajeros de acuerdo con lo establecido en el Certificado Internacional de Arqueo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Por el lado de las terminales de cruceros, Cristóbal espera recibir aproximadamente 100 cruceros en esta temporada que acaba de iniciar y tienen programado la recalada de Queen Mary 2 de la línea Cunard Line, como también Jewel of the Seas de Royal Caribbean. El tonelaje de este buque asciende a 90.000 toneladas de peso muerto y navegará en itinerarios de 10 y 11 noches por el Caribe. La ACP espera que este crucero navegue por la vía.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mientras que Colón 2000 se prepara para la inauguración del proyecto de home port de Royal Caribbean que inicia el 7 de diciembre de 2008 con un buque cuya capacidad es de 2.800 pasajeros y 945 tripulantes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El estudio de mercado de CLIA revela que se han incluido más puertos casa (home ports) porque entre otros beneficios que ofrece esta la conveniencia y el ahorro en dinero en concepto de pasaje de avión.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Este estudio de mercado contrasta con las notas no tan positivas publicadas en meses anteriores en medios internacionales en cuanto a la incierta situación económica que atraviesa los Estados Unidos, principal mercado turístico del Canal y del Caribe, adicional a los altos precios del combustible ha generado cierta incertidumbre sobre el comportamiento de esta industria.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;De acuerdo con un informe de Business Times Singapore y citado por la ACP, las líneas de cruceros están aumentando los cargos y cambiando sus itinerarios. Sin embargo, las principales líneas navieras como la Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean y Holland America, seguirán ofreciendo sus paquetes de incentivos y descuentos para promover las travesías a type='text'>Avances en estrategia logística de Panamá</title><content type='html'>&lt;div align="justify"&gt;La creación de una ley para establecer una estrategia logística nacional en Panamá fue el tema central en una reunión mantenida entre la Autoridad del Canal de Panamá, la Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (AMP), el Ministerio de Comercio e Industrias y la Cámara Marítima de Panamá.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rubén Karamañites, presidente de la Cámara Marítima, advierte que la estrategia ya no se puede abordar solo desde el punto de vista marítimo. “Se están considerando el resto de modos de transporte”, dijo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A juicio de este gremio, la estrategia debe considerar el crecimiento del comercio internacional en busca de nuevos mercados, el desarrollo de nuevas rutas y la creación de nuevos centros de acopio y de redistribución de carga.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Carlos González de la Lastra, secretario general de la AMP, señaló que la estrategia marítima nacional type='text'>Los Puertos de Trasbordo</title><content type='html'>&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;El Trasbordo Marítimo por definición comprende la transferencia de cargas, especialmente contenedores, de un barco a otro; sin embargo, en aquellos lugares donde la geografía o la infraestructura así lo permiten, esa operación puede ser complementada por un modo de transporte terrestre (ferrocarril o camiones) que permitirá el movimiento de la carga a otro puerto, a veces situado a gran distancia del primero, para finalmente ser transbordados.
